Description

High voltage surge comparisin testing is the most effective test available to check the quality of electrical winding. Two high voltage pulses are discharged in to two identical winding and the reflection of both signals are displayed on a Cathode Ray Tube (C.R.T). If the winding are identical and without faults. The reflected pulse will be identical and overlap each other.If one or both of the winding are faulty then two different traces will appear on the C.R.T.

surge Testing is an important and effective test because it not only test ground insulation but it also test turn to turn , coil to coil and phase insulation.

Application

The test can apply to AC/DC motors, wound rotors, armatures , fields, stators upto 50 HP.
